Geek Rock Comedy Show

Nationally touring comedian Mikey Mason, the mind behind "She Don't Like Firefly" and "Best Game Ever" brings his high-energy nerd rock comedy to Penguicon for one show only! His act can only be described as contagious enthusiasm, ranging from the occasional twisted parody to his hilarious original comedy and songs about gaming, fantasy, sci-fi, comic books, and geek life in general. Truly a "Don't Miss" show.

Drum Circle and Belly Dancing

I would like to do a bellydance/drum jam session panel. Musicians of all types are welcome, but primarily drummers and people who play folk instruments such as woodwinds/flutes/recorders other types of percussion instuments etc...things of a more tribal nature if you will. Anyone is welcome and it would be a fun time especially for dancers and drummers! This isn't a "how to" workshop, it's just a get together to play music and jam, but is not a "filking" event, it's a "jam session."

Although the title may suggest otherwise, this is not a speed dating, matchmaking, or in any way related to hooking up room. Rather, this room is devoted solely to the creation of music. In this room you'll find instruments, sheet music, and maybe even a lesson or two. So stop by, pickup or bring your own instrument, and play.

Scrub Club Records presents: The Evolution of Artists and Listeners

The head of Scrub Club, MadHatter, speaks about the changes in the music industry and how independent artists and their supporters need to evolve to survive. In his opinion, the tired, greedy model of the industry has collapsed and thugs like the RIAA and larger labels are resorting to desperate measure to make independent artistry fail. Scrub Club Records considers themselves at the forefront of change, and the way they release albums and interact with their listeners truly makes them unique in the world. The presentation is followed by a question and answer panel where the crowd is encouraged to ask anything about music, Nerdcore in general, and even personal questions to the artists present:
MadHatter, Soup or Villainz, and King Pheenix.
